Why teachers stay with us

What makes us different.

A red pencil writing by hand on a lined page

Written by teachers, not A.I.

Every LitPlan was written by Mary Collins, a high-school English teacher, or by an experienced teacher she trusts. Nothing here is machine-generated, and every updated edition is read and proofread page by page.

What teachers say about LitPlans

“

The collection of literature units created by Ms. Collins are extremely well done. The lessons and activities are consistent and thorough for a complete unit study. This is the first set of literature units I’ve found that do not need to be adapted for classroom use. Just print and take to work.

— K. Evans

“

Being my first year as a high school teacher, I knew I would need some tools to help my first year go by without a hitch. This lesson plan did just the trick. All I can say is wonderful! The other English teachers love them and our department head is looking into buying a series of them.

— A first-year high school teacher

“

Mary Collins has obviously spent time in an English classroom as the teacher. Her study guide questions are right on the mark. In the vocabulary section, her quote choices are almost exactly what I would have chosen. I have used several of Collins’ lit plans, and without exception I have been pleased with them.

— M. T. Davis

From one teacher’s classroom

Mary Collins started Teacher’s Pet Publications in a spare bedroom in 1989, with the lesson plans she had written for her own English classes. More than 35 years later she still writes the LitPlans, updates them, and answers the email herself.
